A collaboration platform for four innovation campuses

Brightlands, a startup accelerator in Limburg, Netherlands, wanted to unite four campuses, materials, health, nutrition, and services, under one vision. We designed the platform that brings them together.

The challenge

Brightlands needed a space where entrepreneurs, researchers, and students could collaborate seamlessly across four campuses, Greenport Venlo, Chemelot Geleen, Health Maastricht, and Smart Services Heerlen, positioning the campuses as a single driving force for innovation.

What we did

We designed a prototype web platform that acts as a central hub across all four campuses, encouraging interaction between entrepreneurs, researchers, and students so they can share resources and ideas to advance innovation in business, research, and education.

How we worked

Working closely with stakeholders from each campus, we led the design end to end, facilitating workshops to gather input from users and decision-makers, then translating those insights into a user-friendly interface that streamlined communication and collaboration. We partnered with developers to ensure smooth functionality across the campus verticals.

What we learned

  • A unified vision drives results, aligning distinct focus areas under one ambition strengthened the whole brand.
  • Cross-disciplinary collaboration needs a place to happen; the platform gave it one.
